"I AM A MEXICAN PLEASE PULL ME OVER"
This is what we should all be saying. This new law is an attack on all Americans.
Do we live in a police state?
Do Americans approve of Nazi Gestapo tactics?
Do Americans want an apartheid country?
Does a political agenda prevail over civil rights in our country?
Do we continue to live in fear, and xenophobia?
Americans have to draw a line in the sand. This line is now inscribed in the sands of the Arizona desert. Do we continue to live in fear, and xenophobia. Or, do we live as free Americans. This is not just an attack on Latinos, it is an attack on all Americans.
Arizona used to have a Libertarian mind set. Now it has turned into a tea bagging Gestapo mind set. This is not what America stood for.
The statue of Liberty has become a symbol of Apartheid.
There is nothing civil about this legislation. The proponents of this are using it for political gain, and to hide their incompetency.
They are using this to veil their inner racist thoughts, and agenda.
The demographics are changing in our country.
So, either we adapt, and evolve. Or, we allow these types of laws to continue.
If this law stands then who is next?
Should we all wear a photo copy of our citizenship paper on our lapel, next to a pin of the American flag?
Should we have a tattoo with our passports on our forehead?
Should we get a micro chip implanted with our ID on it?
Where does it STOP??
What is wrong with this country?
Where has the heart and soul of America gone?
Check out Dusty's blog she has a great post about this.
If this was in Iran, it would be on front pages in the US

I've been reading about this since yesterday. I have Latino friends on the east coast. Since this started rumbling a few years ago, I've been worried for them.
The heart and soul of the U.S. hasn't gone anywhere. It's just that the ones without brains and souls are able to scream louder...for now.
It's time for the angel Mafia.
Your title sums this up so well RZ.
"This is not just an attack on Latinos, it is an attack on all Americans"
Do you remember the push for a national driver's license? At the federal level, the push "failed," so Homeland Security is now "empowering/pressuring" states to "improve security" through a law called Advanced Secure Issuance (or "Real ID Act"), a bill passed by Congress in 2005 as part of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and the Tsunami Relief Act.

"Because a driver's license serves so many purposes (access to federal buildings, nuclear power plants, boarding aircraft, etc.), criminals and terrorists actively seek fraudulent state-issued identification"

You're right. Our liberties are being taken away one chink at a time and soon we'll all be Mexicans everywhere.
I found a curious aticle this morning while reviewing news articles on the net. From Reuters. "MEXICO CITY, April 27 (Reuters) - Mexico warned its citizens living in or traveling to Arizona that they could be "harassed" there.."
I Googled "warning against travel to Mexico" recalling that the US had done so not long ago. Amongst the many typical finds, there were two separate articles; one "Mexico Issues Travel Warning to Arizona" and another right below taht "USA Warning against non-essential travel to Mexico."
Irony in at its best.
Mexico is the largest trading partner with 22 states, including Arizona. Mexico is now pulling back in many ways, including advising against travel to Arizona. This is undoubtedly the beginning of a push by Mexico, to treat it's citizens fairly.
This Sherrif takes the Department's resources and manpower to perform raids on immigrants. Is that idiot Sherrif suggesting that the Department can efficiently operate without all of it's resources? Does the crime rate go up at those times during the raids?
Please google [Constitution Free Zone] it is not what it sounds like.
100 miles now. How far will this go?
@ boomer bob, wasn't that US warning because of murders and gang killing in Mexico?
Sheriff Arpaio.

Sheriff Joe does not want to leave his position and run for Governor. Because if he left his desk the NEW Sheriff in town could open all his books.
I can just see the new Sheriff looking at Joe's Maricopa County Sheriffs books.
His jaw wold drop, and his comment would be .
OH MY,OH MY.
