They got 3 feet in McAllen, Texas - that's where I'm from and my family are all still there. After two or three days of 95 degree weather, they were still shoveling it into bags to move to the curb. They had to shovel it away from homes to keep it from forming water dams and causing indoor flooding.
That hail was driven by 72 mph winds. It drove the ice not only through windows, but took down wooden walls on the north side of many buildings. It blasted the stucco off commercial buildings.
Eyewitnesses (lifelong Texas residents) were completely baffled - they had never seen anything like this, not even in tornado alley.
Anon;
Thanks for coming over taking a peek, and commenting.
I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of this not only on Texas but else where also.
Hope you and your family is safe.
