Masters Of War

Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build all the bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks. You that never done nothin' But build to destroy You play with my world Like it's your little toy You put a gun in my hand And you hide from my eyes And you turn and run farther When the fast bullets fly. Like Judas of old You lie and deceive A world war can be won You want me to believe But I see through your eyes And I see through your brain Like I see through the water That runs down my drain. You fasten all the triggers For the others to fire Then you set back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion' As young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud. You've thrown the worst fear That can ever be hurled Fear to bring children Into the world For threatening my baby Unborn and unnamed You ain't worth the blood That runs in your veins. How much do I know To talk out of turn You might say that I'm young You might say I'm unlearned But there's one thing I know Though I'm younger than you That even Jesus would never Forgive what you do. Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul. And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand over your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead.------- Bob Dylan 1963

Weaponized Profits: The US Health Care System | Common Dreams

Weaponized Profits: The US Health Care System | Common Dreams
Here is a list of Most efficient health care countries.
I am in S/Korea right now.
It comes in at number 8.
U.S.A. comes in at number 46.
The difference is beyond words.
My wife spent 3 nights in a hospital due to a minor accident.
It cost $90.00.
I will spell it out so that there is no question of  missing zeros.
Ninety dollars.
To see a doctor and have normal care is less than $15.00 a visit.

Three day supply of medicine is less than $5.00.
They allow one annual teeth cleaning for a total cost of $12.00.
These services can all be done as a walk in, with no appointment necessary.
I will be going to the hospital this week for the complete annual check up. And I mean complete. They check everything, I might even have to spend the night.
Can't wait to see what that will cost. :-)
We have been getting screwed in America for decades.
Because our congresssritters are in the pockets of the insurance corps.
They are the ones that write the legislation.
The critters are only messengers for the parasites that control our health care.
Health care belongs on Main St., not Wall St.

As long as capitalism is the chosen religion and socialism is considered evil, there will always be somebody getting fucked over.

I still hate word verification. I have Macular degeneration and the beginnings of cataracts and nothing for health care except the veterans administration.give a guy a break.

I got to thinking, could Korea afford that level of health care if we withdrew our forces and they had to protect their own border. Just curious?

I totally agree with you on the cap/soc part.

I wish we would withdraw our forces.
Not only in S/Korea, but many other countries.
I think we have well over 700 bases world wide. But who is counting.
We did not fight the cold war to protect us from communism.
We fought it to further the cause of Corporate capitalism.
There is no threat form the North.
None at all.
There are no "deliverable" nukes in the North.
N/Korea is not suicidal.
They may be on the insane/paranoid side but they are not suicidal enough to attack the South.
They know that America would launch all they had with in minutes of any attack from the North.
The Kim regime just like any other regime in power thinks of one thing and on thing only.
To stay in power.
America has a two party political system so that the system can stay in power. They will never allow a viable third party.
If the North and the South signed a peace treaty which the U.S. and China do not want.
South Korea could spend even more on their health care. :-)
I will let you know what the check up costs.

I wish we had the healthcare system Korea has. As it stands right now, I will have to drop healthcare insurance because it will be unaffordable or go on Medicaid. I do not qualify for tax credits or subsides. Premiums for me would go up at least 3k a year. My age and income are against me.

Medicaid is a whole entity of it's own. I live in a state where the governor is opposed to AHC and expanding Medicaid.

This AHC is the most convoluted bunch of crap that I have heard of. But ain't that America?
