"The city’s Local Council called for the three-day strike “in mourning for Libya’s sons” killed in the violence that began Friday, the state-run LANA news agency reported.
The council, in a statement Saturday, said it “urges everyone to be calm and exercise self-restraint... to preserve national unity and prevent sedition.” The Interior Ministry said 43 people were killed and some 400 injured when gunmen opened fire on protesters in Tripoli Friday.
Fighting among rival militias in the suburb of Tajoura, claimed at least six lives and left dozens injured, media reports said."
